hey... just want to let everyone know that
this board has been nominated for the BOARD
OF THE MONTH contest for july.
normally we ask for permission from the
moderator for a board to remain in the runnings
for BOTM, but since there is no mod (and
hasn't been one for some time, as i understand)
i am leaving this query to the posters of
this board.

to find out more about the BOTM contest
and what it may mean to this board, feel
free to stop by the administration category
or click the link to BOTM just beneath the
banner ad on this page.

the BOTM contest is not a popularity contest.
it is open to any board on HOSTBOARD. this
includes boards that are theme-driven as
well as general boards. BOTM showcases many
of HOSTBOARD'S top boards in areas of interest,
community and poster relations.

this board is a great board and is deserved of
its nomination. however, BOTM also generates
advertisement to this board -- which includes
the possibility of lurkers, guests and other
posters visiting this board as it has been
nominated.

please cast your vote above on whether you
approve of this board to remain in the
runnings for july's BOTM contest.

also, i would like to let you know that this poll
will remain active until the 10th of june... as
that is the time when most nominations come to
a close (or when the nomination quota has been
f.i.l.l.e.d -- whichever comes first).

Anyway, I don't think this board qualifies as board of the month. We're a small, lowly community who have no wish to be a board of any month. Or maybe thats just me.

some boards prefer to remain 'anonymous' in the
sense that they maintain their poster relations
based upon word-of-mouth or other similarities
between the posters. on some occassions, having
an open invitation to check out a board may mean
some unnecessary spam and/or other possible forms
of negative intrusion.

since this board does not have a mod, it would
be difficult to do anything about such events
unless admin. were notified. that is all i was
trying to bring to mind.

as far as the good qualities of BOTM, you receive
the winning month banner-free, the link to the
board is placed on the HOSTBOARD main page, you
receive a BOTM graphic to be placed within the
board description, and this board will be featured
on the BOTM main page -- including an interview
by the mod (in this case, i assume the posters).

also let me add that the BOARD OF THE MONTH is
certainly pertaining to any board, as the BOTM
is not just about the greatest board on HOSTBOARD,
but it is also community-driven as well as focuses
on theme-specific qualities of other boards.
HOSTBOARD takes great pride in boards that have
specific subject matter as well as the general
posting boards -- since it means that many
other communities are summoned based upon a
general quality.

this board features a great community atmophere
and is very informative to many people. it is
very deserved of the title. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Have you ever actually read some of the threads on this board? The atmosphere in here is really bad most of the time. No-one really knows each other, no-one really cares about each other - half the posts are made by one post wonders who are advertising their film festivals - really, you should do some research.

Go and ask TEENAGE GIRLS NAKED! board to be BOTM [img]tongue.gif[/img] Cos I really don't think there's much point in selecting this board.
